My inspiration comes from the traditional patterns found in Japanese textiles, which are often very structured and regimented. I work mostly with indigo for the richness and variety of its blues and the way it creates randomness within structure. I also love taking vintage kimono fabrics and giving them new life as scarves and quilts.

Romor Designs vintage Kasuri cotton scarf :
Romor Designs indigo kasuri vintage cotton scarf. I love sourcing vintage Kasuri cottons from Japan. The process involves precisely space dyeing skeins of thread and dyeing them in indigo and then weaving complex patterns with the warp and weft set with these space dyed threads. I try to choose interesting, complimentary fabrics to make a truly unique scarf.

Romor Designs organic cotton, indigo dyed Shibori beach bags. There are four styles: Ne maki (bound beads); Bai (seashells); Kumo (Spiderweb) and Bamako (marbled). These are crossbody bags and all have a zipped pocket inside to hold your valuables. They are machine washable and are the perfect beach bag.

Romor Designs colourful Itajime kaleidoscope silk scarves :
Romor Designs colourful silk scarves. These are created by a complex Japanese folding technique that creates a repeating equilateral triangle parcel (known as "Kikko" or tortoiseshell folding). Colourful silk dyes are injected through the parcels to create wonderful kaleidoscopic patterns. They make the perfect present for you or a loved one.
